Big Read partner, The Oakland Museum of California gets Black History Month started right!

Oakland Museum of California kicks-off Black History Month, Louisiana-style and gets the community excited for our Big Read Kick-Off Cook-Off extravaganza the following Saturday.  Whet your appetite for southern tastes and spirit at African Rhythms: Oakland on the Bayou.  Enjoy live music, beignet-making by Powderface, crafts, and even a Mardi Gras parade.  This is a great opportunity to heart, taste, and see all the wonderful things going on inside the beautiful Oakland Museum of California.
